How mellow waves started
The idea for mellow waves was born in the back of a Moroccan taxi, from a love of surfing and being in the water, combined with frustration at the lack of information on how to get better at surfing in between when you’ve learnt the basics but before you get to the point where you’re doing airs and surfing double overhead reef breaks.
We wanted to create a guide to help bridge that gap, but since then, mellow waves has evolved into much more than a guide, it’s becoming a community. A tight knit crew of people all around the world focussed on getting you in the sea more and catching more waves, whether that’s helping you to get fitter and stronger, improving your confidence, learning new skills or simply helping you find waves and equipment that are perfect for your level of ability.
I’m Amy and I’m an ok surfer. I’ve been surfing for a while now (nearly ten years), and I absolutely love it, by I’m by no means an expert, and I never get enough time in the water to be really good. But over the years I’ve done everything I can to learn how to make the most of my naturally weak arms and lack of confidence in the sea, so that I catch more waves and stay as stoked on surfing as I was the first time I ever caught a wave. And I love nothing more than helping other people keep the stoke too.
So welcome to our little crew… I am so stoked that you’ve found us and would love for you to be a part of what we’re building. Sign up and you’ll be the first to know about what we’re up to.
We need you!
